Quick update

It seems that cyclone Debbie has tracked South, and we are no longer in the watch zone.

However, please do keep praying for the folk further South as it is still forecast to be a Category 4 when it makes landfall.

Cyclone potentially incoming

It's been a pretty quiet cyclone season this year, but there is one forming off the coast that could potentially come our way. The kids are keen for it to head our way (a day off school ☺) but on balance it is probably best if it doesn't - especially at the forecast Cat 4. So we would value your prayers.

Resurrection of the blog...

Apologies to those of you who were wondering whether we had disappeared off the face of the earth...We haven't!!!

It just got to the point where the effort of remembering to blog, having the time to blog and having the energy to blog never intersected.

Now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology (phone with decent camera plus Bluetooth keyboard) the effort required has sufficiently reduced to make a blog happen :)

I have also decided to do some blogging from work, which will also increase the likelihood of them happening (if I remember...)

So, here is a blog post.

We have moved house! (thanks to those of you who prayed). Our new house has a row of citrus trees along one border, and when Caleb and I were looking for ripe fruit this morning, we came across this fellow munching happily on an orange leaf. Seemed like a good opportunity to test out the quality of the camera on my phone. It think the result are pretty good. Good enough to post on a blog anyway - which saves the hassle of having to put the SD card in the computer, download the photo to the computer and then upload to blogger.

"Too easy", as they would say here :)

Random

I'm aware that we haven't blogged for a while. Not that much happening here that isn't quite ordinary. School, work and Ruben takes up most of the time. We do get out at the weekends, although not so much swimming this time of year. Too cold for us now if it's below 30 degrees C!  A few pictures of us out and about just to prove we are still here.

Ruben turns 4

It was Ruben's birthday this week, which of course meant a trip on the Kuranda railway. Fortunately for us it coincided with the 125 years of the railway so all locals got 50% off just the day I wanted to book.

Ballyhooley Steam Railway

This Sunday afternoon it was pouring with rain!! Can't really complain as we have mostly sunny days! It didn't seem like a swimming day so we headed north to Port Douglas and the steam railway. On the way back along the coast we stopped at a beach where people had been building fun rock structures.
