So much to blog...

OK, so I didn't blog as much as I intended...The problem is we've been doing so much stuff, we haven't had the chance to record it for posterity. Libby's mum was here for a month, so we were out and about quite a bit, and we went away over Easter, then were at the MAF camp a couple of weeks ago.

We are now trying to catch our breath...

Will try to catch up with blogs shortly...

Baptisms

Last Sunday we went up to Mareeba for the baptisms of some MAF kids (it actually ended up being 7 MAF kids and 3 MAF adults, amongst others!) The baptisms were in someone's pool, but their property backed on to the Barron River - so although it was very low and very muddy, most of the kids forsook the pool to go paddle in the mud...

Almost complete rainbow from our patio ☺

Scenery

One of the benefits of living in Cairns is the scenery. Libby's mum had just come to stay, so last evening we went down to the Esplanade for a swim and a barbie. This was a photo that Libby took of the view. The other is a recent sunset from our veranda (photo doesn't do it justice😞).

Quick update

It seems that cyclone Debbie has tracked South, and we are no longer in the watch zone.

However, please do keep praying for the folk further South as it is still forecast to be a Category 4 when it makes landfall.

Cyclone potentially incoming

It's been a pretty quiet cyclone season this year, but there is one forming off the coast that could potentially come our way. The kids are keen for it to head our way (a day off school ☺) but on balance it is probably best if it doesn't - especially at the forecast Cat 4. So we would value your prayers.

Resurrection of the blog...

Apologies to those of you who were wondering whether we had disappeared off the face of the earth...We haven't!!!

It just got to the point where the effort of remembering to blog, having the time to blog and having the energy to blog never intersected.

Now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology (phone with decent camera plus Bluetooth keyboard) the effort required has sufficiently reduced to make a blog happen :)

I have also decided to do some blogging from work, which will also increase the likelihood of them happening (if I remember...)

So, here is a blog post.

We have moved house! (thanks to those of you who prayed). Our new house has a row of citrus trees along one border, and when Caleb and I were looking for ripe fruit this morning, we came across this fellow munching happily on an orange leaf. Seemed like a good opportunity to test out the quality of the camera on my phone. It think the result are pretty good. Good enough to post on a blog anyway - which saves the hassle of having to put the SD card in the computer, download the photo to the computer and then upload to blogger.

"Too easy", as they would say here :)
